TEHE KITTY
Trans+ Adult Workshops

In February 2025 I ran a workshop for the group Just Do The Thing, which is based in Manchester. This is a focused support group for Transfem people, and I had an amazing time running the TEHE KITTY workshop with them!
Everyone designed, constructed and decorated their own TEHE KITTY!
DESIGN
The process begins with design, creating a template/shape of the TEHE KITTY, before tracing that shape directly onto fabric

After drawing the Design onto the fabric, then it's time to plan the featurs and facial expression, then it's time to colour!

CONSTRUCTION
Once the TEHE KITTY is decorated and coloured, then it's time to construct, using sewing machine, then hand-stuffing, then finally handsewing
Before it was sewn up completely, attendees then could write a private message to sew into their TEHE KITTY secretly and forever!

CELEBRATION
Finally we took pictures together and celebrated the gawjus TEHE KITTY that everyone had made! Attendees sent me photos of their TEHE KITTY at home!

I was blown away by the creativity and independence of the group, as well as the sense of community: some attendees brought sewing machines, materials, and helped with prep and use of the machine, which was so amazing. Thank you to everyone at Just Do The Thing!!!

BIG LUV to Jas, Kit and Bea for giving me the opportunity to run this workshop

Transmissions in Lockdown
In Lockdown, I ran Transmissions, which was a weekly meetup for Trans+ people. I ran it as a space for Trans+ people to come together, get creative and socialise.
One of the projects I ran was the TEHE KITTY project!
